What's your favourite Soup?

Many years ago, I tackled the long-distance Speyside Way on foot. On day one, I entered some woodland near Fochabers – and found myself puzzled by the smell. What on earth was going on? Unless my nose was deceiving me, the usual fragrances of the forest had been overpowered by the comforting and unmistakable aroma of... soup.
It was only when I emerged from the trees that all became clear. There it was – a splendid sight. The Baxters Soup factory.
I was therefore genuinely intrigued when Ryan Herman at CA Magazine asked me to interview Baxters Food Group European Head of Performance Laine Herd and Graduate Apprentice Millie Mckenzie about their work – and why the celebrated food manufacturer is now an ICAS training office.
And of course, there was one critical question that I had to ask: “What is your favourite Baxters Soup?”
Well... it turns out that Millie loves lentil and bacon, and Laine is a fan of spicy parsnip.
Could it be the “comforting texture” and “uplifting flavour” promised on the soup cans, I wondered?
“Well, yes," smiled Laine. "But we also like soups that perform well operationally. They are both very good yielders.”
Never say that accountants don't have a good sense of humour.
