Ta-da! New website...

Updated: 7 hours ago

My website had become as neglected as my garden – but no longer folks! The landscape architects have been in, and I can now unveil acres of neatly-manicured digital estate... all about me.

It's almost five years since I left my first business, White Light Media, and launched Fraser Allen Communications. Establishing a new venture just as we entered the pandemic crisis was challenging and, by spring 2020, I had so much time on my hands that the Allen family garden had never looked so good.

However, things picked up quickly that summer and I was heartened to receive several projects from former clients or via word-of-mouth recommendations. By spring 2021, our garden had returned to its familiar state – let's call it 'rewilding' – and sparks were flying off my keyboard.

In the meantime, the website I had cobbled together in January 2020 was looking dated, so I pared it back to a single page, posted any blogs on Linkedin, and tried to ignore the poor little thing. That worked for a while but, eventually, I had to face up to the fact that it wasn't just my garden that was neglected. I had become a cliché: the cobbler with worn shoes, the barber with a dodgy barnet, the marketing consultant who doesn't market himself. Busy as I had been, that's not a great look.

Also, I had lazily assumed that most people in my network know what I am doing and what services I offer – but a few conversations in the past couple of years showed otherwise. Some people even thought I was semi-retired (stop it, my ribs are hurting). And yet this confusion was all down to me. So finally, I knuckled down.

Like most people, I hate banging on about how great I am – although one look at my new website suggests I overcame that obstacle pretty quickly. And hopefully the new copy clarifies how I can help.

It was also great to get my former business partner and friend Alan Lennon (Lennon Design) on board to rebrand me, design the site and remain patient whenever I went in to review progress and accidentally wreck everything. I'm very pleased with the results, and would always recommend him – he's a total star.

Thanks for visiting.
