Bringing brands to life through compelling content and creative marketing
As a boy, I loved magazines and books, and I read my Dad’s newspaper voraciously every day. I launched my first attempt at a magazine when I was 14 and sold it in the school playground. I never had any doubt that I wanted to be a writer.
That desire opened many interesting doors for me, in publishing, communications and marketing. I learnt my trade as a business journalist in London and worked as a newspaper reporter in Istanbul before moving into marketing. Then in 2001, I launched White Light Media, Scotland's leading content agency.
Over 18 years, I built an award-winning team, delivering ambitious print and digital projects for clients such as Standard Life, Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, Tesco, Total and Channel 4.
In January 2019, I sold the business and launched Fraser Allen Communications. This has brought me back to my first love of working closely with clients and, despite the pandemic crisis, it's been a busy, exciting time. I've been involved in a diverse spread of B2B, finance and consumer projects, including content for blogs, websites, social media, apps, white papers, investor reports, video scripts, books and pitches.
In addition, in September 2020, I was appointed Ambassador of Communications for the Scottish Business Network – and present the fortnightly Scottish Business Network podcast.
Part of me, however, will always be the boy selling magazines in the playground.
Do get in touch, it would be lovely to hear from you.
