Creative content that strengthens brands.
As a boy, I loved magazines and books, and I read my Dad’s newspaper voraciously every day. I launched my first attempt at a magazine when I was 14 and sold it in the school playground. I never had any doubt that I wanted to be a writer.
That desire opened many interesting doors for me, in publishing, communications and marketing. I learnt my trade as a business journalist in London and worked as a newspaper reporter in Istanbul before moving into marketing. Then in 2001, I launched White Light Media which, within a few years, was Scotland's leading content agency.
Over 18 years, I built an ambitious team, delivering award-winning print and digital projects for clients such as Standard Life, Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, Tesco, Total and Channel 4. I also launched the drinks magazine Hot Rum Cow, and ran World Whisky Day for four years.
In December 2019, I sold the business and launched Fraser Allen Communications, bringing me back to my first love of writing and working closely with clients. Since then, I've been commissioned for numerous B2B, finance and consumer projects, including content for blogs, websites, social media, apps, white papers, investor reports, video scripts, books and pitches. I've also edited, produced and presented several podcast series for clients, as well as my own Scottish Business Network series.
This has given me the chance to work with so many interesting and inspirational clients, and I still get the same buzz with projects today as I did when I was a teenager putting a fresh issue of my homespun magazine together.
Do get in touch, it would be lovely to hear from you.
